I decided to Revisit My To-Do List For the Sake of My Sanity

Checklists, post-its, calendars, kanban boards, and many more tools have become the daily, inseparable companions for most of us. Are they friendly?

I can’t say for certain. However, I know for sure that an incomplete to-do list can be demanding, overwhelming, even begging me to be fulfilled.

By the end of the day, unachieved tasks are common, inevitable, triggering some if not all of these :

  • Guilt,
  • Self-doubt,
  • Frustration,
  • Pressure and Stress,
  • Endless unsatisfaction.

Is this what a productivity companion is supposed to do? No thanks!

Shall I abandon it? No way!

Indeed, we are inseparable, so what about treating my checklists differently?

The other day, I was looking at my undone tasks, feeling powerless and sorry. For what? Taking another glimpse into my day, I realized a couple of things :

  • I promised myself too much stuff to do, prioritizing numerous tasks.
